Yesterday morning I woke up with a sore throat, but didn't think much of it. It wasn't horrible during the day, just annoying. We had an appointment with our financial guy last night, and decided to go out for dinner before that. I love going out to eat, because we really don't do it that often, but it was hard to enjoy it when every bite felt like shards of glass sliding down my throat!
So I took some PM cold meds last night and fell asleep around 8:30 - but only made it about 2 hours before waking up with every swallow. That went on all night. I tried Advil, Tylenol, Sore Throat Drops . . . . nothing worked. And on top if it I have the major chills - slept with 2 blankets and a sweatshirt on. At 4:00 I turned the TV on and just sat on the couch crying. lol Such a baby I am! But the pain was unbearable. It's not like you can just not swallow!
So after sending the kids off to school I headed to Fairview Express. She did a strep test and it showed positive even before her little timer went off. I don't think I've ever had strep in my life - I was ready for her to say it was viral, and to just live with it until it goes away. Since Bronson had strep 3 weeks ago, she decided to write Barry a prescription too because he was bound to get it (it was starting to not feel so well.) That was nice, saved us an office visit. Shane is already on antibiotics for his ear infection, so he should be fine.
I told my boss I was going to bed and couldn't work today. I'm hoping I feel better by tomorrow. I LOVE Thanksgiving dinner, and it won't be fun if I can barely swallow it.
